Each year, the Piedmont Environmental Alliance (PEA) celebrates Earth Day in a big way! The Piedmont Earth Day Fair welcomes people of all ages from across the region to the Piedmont Earth Day Fair, a free family-friendly outdoor event held at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. Designed to recognize all that has been accomplished since the first Earth Day was held in 1970, the Earth Day Fair serves as a call to continue the efforts begun more than 40 years ago!
This year’s event, themed “Let’s Get Dirty!” will be held April 28th, from 10 a.m. to 5: 00 p.m.
The Fair has something for everyone, offering a full day of entertainment on the main stage, a variety of all-natural and local foods and a host of children’s activities (including a parade and pony rides!) to inspire our youngest citizens to take care of the planet.
More than 100 exhibitors will demonstrate the sustainable features of their products and services. Restaurants, farmers, “green” technology companies, environmental education groups and non-profits are just some of the organizations who participate in the Earth Day Fair to share their passion for protecting the Earth.
Parking is free and valet parking is available for cyclists. Bus transportation from downtown is also available. To learn more about the Fair, including how you can participate as a vendor or a volunteer, visit PEA’s web site at www.peanc.org.
